In 1967 Bill Wood started Wood’s Paint Center on the streets of Leonardtown. His motto would be: “A Good Paint Product Combined with Great Service and a Fair Price is A Winning Combination”.
With a thriving business for many years in 1978 with his son, Mike Wood, beside him he decided to open up Wood’s Paint Center II in the Charlotte Hall Shopping Center. In 1984 his son, Mike, took over this business and two years later Mike opened up a third store in Lexington Park called Paintin’ Place.
With the increased growth of St. Mary’s County and the development of new shopping centers, a decision was made to combine the Lexington Park Store and the Leonardtown Store into one location at the Wildewood Shopping Center.
After 43 years of serving the tri-county area, Wood’s Paint Centers still rely on the motto we learned in the early days:
“A Good Paint Product Combined with Great Service and a Fair Price is still A Winning Combination”
